How Does a VPN Provide DDOS Protection?

DDoS example If you are, or previously were, an avid online gamer you most likely know what a DDoS attack is and most importantly how frustrating these can be. In fact, if you’re a PlayStation Network or Xbox Live user, then this is unfortunately part of your daily vocabulary, but truth is that this doesn’t only happen to the gaming community as it can affect any online service, including major corporations and small businesses. Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks have existed for years now and nowadays are so advanced that they’ve become much more complex, harder to fight against and easier to launch than ever.

Distributed Pains in the Back

These are often used nowadays, as the numbers of threats continue to grow with approximately 50 million attacks every year, which translates in something as one to two attacks every second. These are not only a pain to be removed, as DDoS attacks are getting more complex than ever and can strike many different parts of a company’s network, often simultaneously, as they can cause multiple devastating consequences for the unsuspecting enterprise affected by it. Not only can such enterprises have millions in lost revenue; other additional recovery and loss of productivity costs will ultimately translate in the company’s name being damaged as brand reputation is greatly affected. Also, as time passes and technology advances, DDoS attacks become more dangerous concerning their initial objective and nowadays the hackers behind those use them as distractions to mask illegal activities such as fraud and theft.

How VPNs Can Prevent DDoS

torguard-logo Fortunately VPNs are online super heroes that will prevent all crime in every dark alley of this vast digital world. TorGuard for instance, is one of the strongest providers in DDoS prevention as it offers dedicated IP VPN services in Romania with DDoS protection available. This feature is brought to you via a paid add-on; as soon as you get it, all you need is to connect to the DDoS protected VPN IP. According to the company, features such as “Auto blocking any abusive incoming traffic” and “industry leading DDoS mitigation technology” among others, will make you forget about this kind of attacks.

PureVPN logoPureVPN, one of the most appreciated providers out there, also aims for DDoS attack prevention as it offers protection via dedicated Canadian and French IPs as a paid add-on. The company assures some key features such as protection against an unlimited number of all kinds of DDoS attacks also for unlimited duration, with mitigation points across Central Europe and North America and many others.

PureVpn sucks balls, Im always getting booted offline gaming. Only time i didnt with purevpn was when they gave me a Month trial of another server of theres. Mean while i paid over a Hundred for a Dedicated IP with ddos protection. and still get booted even sent then captures using wireshark to show me being Ddosed and still no Fix. Buy spyproof.net it costs 20 for a lifetime and connects to NFO servers no ddos worries anymore
