Privacy Protection
VPNs are mainly adopted to enjoy highly secure and anonymous internet access. There is no question of opting for VPN service if the company cannot guarantee user privacy protection. TorGuard follows the same policy and prioritizes the security of personal information of the users above everything else. Apart from secure VPN and BitTorrent services, the company also provides encrypted webmail. Emails are the first and foremost targets of the hackers, and TorGuard enables you to make them safe with its OpenPGP encryption, secure offshore server storage and bulk POP3 email input.
For BitTorrent plan users, TorGuard provides private IP address and anonymous torrent proxy for safe sharing of files. In the VPN plans, the company makes use of DNS leak protection and 256-bit encryption techniques and provides complete safety to the users.

TorGuard services generally come inclusive of active support for several secure VPN protocols, including PPTP, L2TP and OpenVPN. This enables you to make use of the service on a wide range of devices running on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux operating systems. All kinds of torrent clients are supported by the services offered by this VPN company. All the features can be easily used with the help of an easy-to-use VPN software application that does not require any installation. The easy accessibility to a VPN network through five different devices at a single point of time makes TorGuard even more popular among its users.
Pricing
TorGuard provides three different types of plans. The Torrent VPN Service plan starts at a negligible amount of $4.99/month and includes features like unlimited bandwidth, anonymous torrent IP, ready-to-run software and multiple OS support. The anonymous BitTorrent Proxy plan, starting from $5.95/month, provides unlimited speed and bandwidth, and anonymous BitTorrent IP and multi-platform support to the users. The Anonymous VPN service plan starts from $9.95 per month and includes unlimited bandwidth, access to all torrents, easy installation on multiple OS, and over 100 connection servers. There is a fourth anonymous email plan that starts around $6.95 per month and provides fully encrypted email access to the users. I have started using torguard after using one of the other vpns. The connection seems to be stable, the one thing I did notice, that was different from the other one, is when connected to torguard, my computer doesn’t think it’s connected to the internet, in that my connection status on the status bar, says no internet connection, even though I am connected. I guess it’s safer that way. The other one, would install a driver and the status would show both.

Unfortunately I can’t speak well about “TorGuard VPN”
I have contracted this service since March 2020.
My problems with the service began in July until the date of publication of this commentary.
All the problems I have with this service are the same.
Speed problems.
The Dedicated IP that I contracted with them, very big speed problems, example of having a download speed of 100MB brings you down to 5MB.
Another problem is to contract a Dedicated IP from Germany and when a few days pass your Dedicated IP is changed without notice to an IP from France.
You contact their service department and they give you thousands of excuses.
I have to say that the service is very quick, sometimes they solve the problem on the spot but other times they don’t.
When they solve the problem, after 2 weeks the problems come back.
I’m very disappointed with them.
I do not recommend this service. Don’t waste your time and money on “TorGuard VPN”.

Has worked best amongst IPVanish , PureVPN, and TorGuard, for me. The other two always had connection problems on my android devices, such that I ended up (even with customer service help) use them on public Wifi, so that I felt I had to change.
Torguard has been working flawlessly for 2 years now.
Easy to set up, easy to use in everyday browsing.
Note, I don’t use Netflix, so don’t know how that works.
Only hiccup has been that one particular server location actually shows up in a different country when checking.

* Anonymous Proxy was detected by service provider
Beware when using torguard – Anonymous Proxy service is easily detectable by cable operators.
Dont wast your $ by signing up for a torguard service that offers No Anonynimity.

I stopped using TorGuard after receiving this after signing up….
“Thank you for contacting us.
At the moment all of our shared servers have been blocked by BBC.”

Not sure about those top reviews, obviously people frustrated at there lack of knowledge of things. The service has been rock solid since June 2013 when I joined, it’s very easy to setup, the client software has improved greatly since then and servers have expanded big time.

If you could give no stars I would!!!
Torguard is hopeless!!!
Sold to me afer stating my netgear rx8000 router was compatible. Had to go and get another router and a week later still have no service. No help with getting it setup. Not much good when it can’t be used after spending $300 on another router!! No refund either even though product couldn’t be used. Rubbish customer service. Rubbish instructions to follow to set up. I changed to ipvanish and had it working in 5 minutes.

Torguard sucks. Several attempts to connect, failed. After just one day of trial, I cancelled my subscription.
Support tickets remain unanswered and Money-back guarantee is a fraud.
After now 6 weeks, my payment wasn’t reimbursed
Mark says
Used TorGuard for Netflix and some other things, never had a problem, never had a disconnect or customer support problem, customer support “always” answers me within a couple of hours most of the time within 1 hour. What people need to understand is the socks5 proxy service TorGuard offer is fully dependant on the application (client) supporting the protocol and so you will get dummies who leave bad reviews who just don’t understand these technical aspects. Anyways thanks Torguard and thanks to James/Andy for the help in getting me going.

Very problematic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Telephone support or Online (Chat) support although advertised is really non-existent. If you call their number, only thing you get is the message “support is not available”. Of course an automated voice answers the phone and you are told to dial “1” for support and asks that you speak your name afterwhich it tries to connect you only to get the message “support is not available”. I guess what they call telephone support is this automated voice which leads to nowhere! I did leave a ticket which did get a response but then that it does not solve my problem which only leads to additional emails and tickets. I am a patient man and will try to contact them to resovlve my problem, otherwise, I will cancel my service and try to get back my payment.
Max says
Unbelievable crooks. I submitted a support ticket because their proxy service stopped working almost everyday, and I had to input a different IP address each time. Their response was for me to check the Bittorrent/Utorrent forums because these clients have problems with their proxy service. These two are the most widely used torrent clients in the world!!! And they just passed the buck and denied any liability. Furthermore, when I threatened to tell my story online, they cut off my service without a refund.!!! Do not use their service, these people are just crooks!!!!
Gavin says
In actual fact, your review is based off your complete ignorance, I seen your forum post, your using Mac OS X, if you actually read the Utorrent forums, it’s well known that Utorrent/BitTorrent don’t support UDP trackers at all through a socks proxy – Everyone has this problem yet you make it sound like TorGuard is the problem, complete lack of knowledge and the inability to understand these things is your problem.

I’m referring to UDP trackers on Mac OS X – windows works fine..Seth

Good and mostly stable VPN-service at an acceptable price.
However the customer service is really poor, inadequate information and very rude replies to complaints with no regard to customer-vendor relations.
It seems they expanded a bit too fast and hired low quality support.
“Andy” replied “Is that too much for you to take in?” on a complaint related to them overcharing my bank account. This was followed by his refusal to get his manager to contact me.
Regardless of what, a customer service is the front towards to customer, representing the company and shall always treat the customers as the ones paying their salaries, as we are!
If you have no other options Torguard may work, in any other case, chose another supplier.

have tried to get in touch with TorGuard through their live chat on web site –no response tried several time still no reply when purchased April 2 2014 no log in info was given am trying desperately to contact then but no avail can not get to work how do i get their attentions ????

TorGuard is a great service if your internet speed is 10meg/sec or slower. Once you go beyond that, the VPN speeds vary from awesome to incredibly slow as. My internet is 50 meg/sec and I’ve never connected via VPN with Speedtest better than 6 meg/sec and BitTorrnet proxy usually maxes out at 12-25 meg/sec.
JustinB says
torguard is awesome, i’ve been with them for 6 months and don’t have any complaints. they allow 5 connections at once and have been adding new servers every week. Customer service is quick to reply and speeds are always fast.
