The Grand Tour is one of the most anticipated upcoming series that has been the topic of many discussions. With release scheduled for November 18th 2016 on Amazon Video, the show features the infamous BBC trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May from the much acclaimed Top Gear series. After their departure from the British channel the three of them – and also the producer Andy Wilman – agreed to produce this new series for Amazon, following the same format, with an initial agreement of 36 episodes over 3 years.
The Original Top Gear Series
If you’re a die-hard automobile passionate or even just a slight motoring enthusiast, you certainly heard about Top Gear. Airing since 2002, what started as a relaunched version of the original 1977 show with the same name, has quickly become the legendary TV series it remains to be today. Top Gear even has a vast fan base of people who simply started to watch the series for the adventures of the three jolly Brits. The original lineup of the show consisted of Clarkson, Hammond and Jason Dawe with Andy Wilman in the role of executive producer. Shortly after, the third name was replaced by James May, and one of the most cherished TV trios was born. The show also featured The Stig, a mysterious pilot who would push any car to the limits setting lap records on Top Gear’s own exclusive track. This was later sold to the public as being the one and only Michael Schumacher, although few people believed that The Stig was indeed the legendary F1 pilot.
On March 2015, Clarkson was informed by the BBC that his contract would be terminated following an incident between him and a producer of the show which led his co-hosts, along with Andy Wilman, stating that they would not continue the show without him. The BBC refused to let the show die and as of today it is still aired only with a different lineup and far less viewers.
Watching The Grand Tour Outside the U.S.
As aforementioned, The Grand Tour is an Amazon Video exclusive and because of that you may find some barriers when trying to access the show outside the U.S. Nonetheless, if you use this service and rely on a VPN provider like ExpressVPN to run in the back, you will surely be watching the series’ debut in no time. This VPN company features 136 servers across 87 countries with a wide variety of them spread over the U.S. All you need to do is connect to one of these and you’ll be riding shotgun with Clarkson, Hammond and May.
Taking The Grand Tour to You
Amazon Video does not support a VPN directly, so you’ll have to circumvent the online censorship in a different way. This can be done through the router app that ExpressVPN provides. All you need is to set your DD-WRT or Tomato flashed router – that you can get access to thanks to the partnership between this VPN provider and FlashRouters – and you can stream The Grand Tour on an unlimited number of devices making use of only one connection.
